7 Amazing Restaurants

Here are seven of the best restaurants...
If Saint Martin doesn’t make you weak at the knees, there’s probably not a lot that will. Here are seven of the most romantic restaurants in the most romantic island in the Caribbean.
Bistrot Caraibe for Lobster Thermidor in Grand Case
The go-to neighbourhood for fine dining is La Grande Case. And within that neighbourhood is le Bistrot Caraibe, a restaurant that has been setting the standard for nouvelle French cooking in Saint Martin for over a quarter of a century. Of course, there’s a reason this spot has toughed it out for so long and that is: their food is delicious. If you have to choose just one thing on the menu, try the lobster thermidor - if the rave reviews aren’t enough to tempt you, the heroic quantities of butter on it certainly will. The atmosphere is casual, friendly with a hint of refinement.

Jax Steakhouse In Maho For Couples Who Don’t Do Seafood
It’s no surprise that most restaurants in Saint Martin have a strong seafood theme. Grand Case was originally a fishing village afterall. But JAX Steakhouse isn’t about seafood. As its name suggests, this is a place to eat beef - of the certified Angus Prime variety to be exact. While there are poultry, lamb and seafood options to sate the predilections of all carnivores, the highlight of the menu is their aptly named ‘Cattle Selection’, which runs the gamut of cuts from skirt steak to porterhouse.

La Cigale In Nettle Bay for a Candlelit Dinner Right on The Beach
Imagine this: the sound of waves fizzing into the powder-fine sand, the sight of the sun setting across Nettle Bay, casting a mesmerizing palette of colours across the sky, and that flush of warmth on your skin from your freshly topped-up tan and that first glass of wine. And we’ve not even begun to describe the food yet, which even French-trained chefs would admit is just as good as, if not better than, the dishes coming out of first-class restaurants back home. If La Cigale isn’t enough to get you laid after dinner, then we don’t know what will.

Captain’s Rib Shack for Bbq’d Meat and Comfort Food Near Kimsha Bay Beach
Who says a romantic dinner needs to be expensive and european? For Caribbean comfort food and lots of it, head to Captain’s Rib Shack. Otherwise known as Captain D’s Roadside Grill, you’ll be hard pressed to find better jerk chicken wings on this island. And what says ‘I love you’ better than kissing your boo after you just watched them gnaw on a chicken bone? Mac and cheese, dry-rub ribs and garlic shrimp are other popular favourites. Remember to leave room for their famous Caribbean Johnny cakes.

There’s a perfect wine pairing for every dish, and whatever it is, it’ll be in their carefully curated cellar of over 100 French wines. Les Temps Des Cerises For Afternoon Cocktails And Live Reggae
Les Temps des Cerises is a beach-front hotel restaurant with bohemian vibes. It’s the perfect spot to sip afternoon cocktails on a sunlounger, before tucking into the fish of the day while watching the sun set across La Baie de Grand Case. Compared to some of the other options in the area, this place is much more carefree and casual. Come here on Friday nights for live reggae music. And if you book a half-board room in their gorgeous hotel, you’ll be waking up to a very generous continental or American breakfast.
